2024 "Marine of the Year" and “Associate Member of the Year”

Within the detachment, there is no recognition higher than that of, the "Marine of the Year" and “Associate Member of the Year.” This award is bestowed upon an active member by officers and past recipients of the Peter P Monaco Jr Detachment 40, Marine Corps League Detachment.

All detachments have members who perform and display the dedication, leadership qualities and principles of a good member above all others. It is this member who is always willing to roll up his/her sleeves, to do that tough job, the daunting tasks or put in the long hours of personal sacrifice, without hopes of reward, all to achieve the goals of the Peter P Monaco Jr Detachment 40, Marine Corps League Detachment.

All of this, is evaluated through the members participation, and noteworthy accomplishments, perseverance and devotion to duty. This year we recognize the 2024 "Marine of the Year" Joe Cooper and the “Associate Member of the Year” Steve Porcaro.
